Soil, microclimate and grape varieties Crossed by the 45th parallel, the Medoc peninsula is located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde Estuary. The Medoc has a warm, humid climate with a great deal of sunshine. The region's two large bodies of water have a moderating influence on the temperature, creating a perfect microclimate for viticulture.
The wine is made with three premium grape varieties, which complement each other and create a blend which is greater than the sum of its parts. Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) provides a great deal of finesse, good fruit, and ageing potential. Merlot (50%) contributes softness and richness as well as helping the wine to age well. Petit Verdot (5%) adds body and colour.
